Cura-Care have been working on a new

project coming in February 2020….. The ME Project!

Information for Professionals, Parents and People!

WHAT is The ME Project?

A programme focussed on Managing Emotions for under 19 year olds.

The programme is split into 10 sessions, each being 2 hours long. In groups of no more than 8 young people, we will be discussing issues such as

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Stress
  • Fear
  • Self-Harm
  • Suicidal thoughts

And much more.

The programme will provide support and a toolkit of strategies for young people that can be called upon for managing their own emotions.

We provide a safe talking space which enables young people to openly explore their thoughts and feelings. Sessions are structured to include activities, info-videos and tasks to encourage good communication. Each session is focussed on specific topics, such as ‘school’, ‘relationships’, ‘meds’ etc.

The ME Project supports young people for whom there are no professional services available.

WHO is it aimed at?

  • Young people
  • Parents/carers
  • Professionals
  • Schools

Young people – Each individual will be assessed and matched to a group according to their needs. Typically the young person will be aware of their declining mental health and is struggling to cope.

Parents / Carers – Often it is hard to know where to go, what to say and how to really help young people who have these worries.

Professionals – The ME Project is managed and delivered by skilled and qualified staff. As a provider we ensure that the service we deliver is high quality and consistently improving.

School – Adolescence is an emotionally fraught time, attendance and focus at school are easily impacted.

WHERE is the project being delivered?

Room 7, Stonecross House, Kirk Sandall, Doncaster.

The meeting room in office 7 is self-contained, confidential and safe. It allows access for drinks/ snacks and toilet facilities. The office also has disabled toilets and elevator access as it’s located on the second floor.

If any professional groups would like for the project to be delivered elsewhere we can easily relocate and organise an off-site programme, please discuss with us.

WHEN are sessions held?

We deliver the project at 3 different levels. The frequency of sessions depends on the level that we assess as being suited to the people attending.

We will provide some daytime and some evening programmes so that everyone can take part at a time suited to their needs.

HOW do I organise a place?

You can refer a young person to The ME Project by calling Cura-Care offices on 01302 887222.

or by e-mail at TheMEProject@cura-care.co.uk

All applicants will be assessed during an initial free consultation appointment so that we can ensure we are the right programme for meeting needs. All cost information will be provided during consultation.
