What is epilepsy?
Epilepsy is a neurological disorder that causes abnormal brain activity can cause seizures, unusual behaviour or sensations.
Seizures may be:
- Absences – Where the individual may lose awareness of their surroundings
- Tonic Clonic Seizure – Tonic means loss of consciousness and Clonic means jerking of limbs and possible loss of bowel control
What causes epilepsy?
Seizures may be caused by:
- Tiredness
- Stress
- Alcohol
- Not taking medication
What does Cura-Care do for someone with Epilepsy and Seizures?
All Cura-Care Staff are trained in Epilepsy so that they have full knowledge on what actions to take when someone is having a seizure to ensure they are kept safe
